From humble beginnings to a vibrant ministry, MOUT has grown through faith and dedication.
Founded in the early 1990s as Muranga University Students Evangelist Team (MUSET), MOUT brought together students from the old Murang’a District (now Murang’a County) in public universities. The ministry was later renamed Murang’a Outreach University Team (MOUT) to reflect its broader outreach vision.
Early leaders like Bro Gathuki and Bro Kamanja laid a strong foundation, with Bro Kamanja handing over leadership to Bishop Dr. Sam Maina in 1993. Dr. Sam, then a student at Kenyatta University, and his committee from various universities established robust structures for MOUT’s operations.
MOUT’s organizational structure supports its mission through diverse and inclusive frameworks.
Units consist of students in various universities, while chapters, established in Murang’a, Thika, and Nairobi, engage graduates, ensuring continued service to the ministry.
The committee includes representatives from each university, with an associate as chair and a student as deputy, ensuring diverse leadership.
Registered as a Trust on November 13, 2001, MOUT’s Board oversees the ministry, with the executive committee executing its vision.
In 2006, MOUT acquired 5 acres to establish a ministry and prayer retreat center. The land, now fenced and maintained, features a hostel block in use and under construction, managed by a full-time coordinator.
Launched in the early 2000s, the Couples Fellowship unites married members for spiritual growth and mutual support, with plans to form additional groups for younger couples.
MOUT’s evangelistic efforts and key milestones have transformed communities across Murang’a County and Other Parts of the Country as well.
MOUT members have conducted vigorous outreaches in churches, schools, villages, and towns, establishing Christian unions, supporting churches, and leading many to faith across Murang’a County and Other Parts of the Country as Well.
In 2006, MOUT celebrated a decade of ministry with a mega mission in Mugoiri, featuring medical camps, free tuition, door-to-door witnessing, and revival meetings, strengthening the ministry’s impact.
Be part of MOUT’s vision to ignite a spiritual revival through active participation and support.
